
A bit about John...
Poet John McEwan is well known on Merseyside as the Liver Bard. He has written many Nostalgic and Acrostic Poems based on personal Childhood Memories when growing up in the inner city area of post - war, bomb damaged Liverpool, during the mid 1940's and throughout the 1950's. His Poems have particular appeal to exile Scousers around the World. They have proved excellent Fundraisers for Merseyside Charities, thanks to the generous support of BBC Radio Merseyside Listeners to Linda McDermott's Wednesday Night Nostalgia Show and Billy Maher's Weekend Inn, both of which command large Worldwide followings.
Apart from Poetry, MENSA Member, John's main interests are his Family, Attending Quizzes and supporting Everton Football Club, their History and Players have been featured in many of his poems. He likes most TV Sport and sings 'Hank Williams Numbers' with Southport based Band Celtic Spirit and is a very keen Crown Green League Bowler.

What is an Acrostic Poem?
An Acrostic can be a Poem, Verse or other forms of Writing, in which the First Letters of Each Line are arranged in such an order, they spell out a Word, Name or Message, usually in a Vertical Direction.
